Dallas Observer Best of Dallas® On Stands September 21st

Where do you turn to when you’re looking for help finding a great restaurant, a unique place to shop or a fun new place to hang out and maybe share a few drinks?

If you said Google, Tripadvisor or, heaven help you, Yelp, we have some bad news for you. You’re doing it wrong.

This is Dallas, a melting pot of personalities, provisions, and pretensions. So...if you are looking for the skinny on Big D, start with the people who live here and know this city best. That’s why thousands of readers turn to our annual Best of Dallas issue. Whether you are looking for the Best Nashville Chicken Sandwich, the Best Rock Climbing Gym, or the Best Place to Find a Single Dad this is where your search begins.

We know our city, and for decades we have been producing these annual guides to the good things around us.

But Dallas is a big place, and even its most devoted fans, like us, can use a hand every now and then to uncover all of its greatness. That’s why this year’s theme for Best of Dallas is "Under the Influence." That doesn’t mean what Dallas Observer readers who know us well might think. This time we’re talking about influencers, those local, online subject-matter experts devoted to tracking local trends and uncovering new or little known people and places worth paying a visit.

You know, people like us, Dallas OG influencers.

For Best of Dallas 2023 we plan to reach out to a few popular, well-known social media influencers to get their takes on what’s hot in the city and how to find the next great thing.

As a special bonus, the Observer writers and editors and the influencers we hope to tap are flesh-and-blood people, not soulless bits of computer code or random strangers from parts unknown who only think they know Dallas. We actually do, and as always, we’re excited to share with you our thoughts on the absolute best.

Join us once again as Best of Dallas 2023 celebrates the innovators, creative thinkers, entrepreneurs and others whose work and commitment not only influence the city, but spread the good word about our home far beyond Big D’s borders.
